Packaging weight per product and shipping box, recorded with every order; kg per country and material for LUCID (Germany) and BDO (Poland).

== Description ==

Every shop that ships packaged goods to consumers is a producer of packaging. It must register (LUCID in Germany, BDO in Poland), license its packaging with a compliance scheme and report the quantities placed on the market – per material, in kilograms.

Since **12 August 2026** the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (EU) 2025/40 (PPWR) applies, and in Germany the **Verpackungsrecht-Durchführungsgesetz (VerpackDG)** replaced the VerpackG. The data report to LUCID (§ 9 VerpackDG) must list material and mass by the categories of § 42(2) VerpackDG. In Poland the annual BDO report on packaging is due by 15 March for the previous year.

Most shops estimate these numbers once a year in a spreadsheet. This plugin records them with every order.

= Features =

* **Packaging per product and variation**: material and grams of the sales packaging (variations inherit from the parent product).
* **Shipping boxes**: define your boxes, fillers and tape once (grams per material) and assign a box to each shipping method.
* **Recorded per order**: the packaging of every order is stored with the delivery country at the time of the order – later product changes do not alter past reports.
* **Report** per period: kilograms per delivery country and material category, using the **LUCID** categories for Germany (Papier, Pappe, Karton · Kunststoffe · Glas · Eisenmetalle · Aluminium · Getränkekarton · sonstige Verbunde · sonstige Materialien) and the **BDO** categories for Poland.
* **CSV export** of the report for your compliance scheme (e.g. Der Grüne Punkt, Interseroh+, Reclay) or your BDO report.
* Orders placed before installing the plugin can be **estimated from current product data**.
* Your **registration numbers** per country (LUCID, BDO, others) in one place.
* Block and classic checkout, HPOS.
* Translations: English, German (Sie), Polish.

= Not legal advice =

The plugin adds up the packaging data you enter. Whether a packaging counts as system-relevant (systembeteiligungspflichtig) and how to report it is your responsibility; ask your compliance scheme.

== Installation ==

1. Install and activate the plugin.
2. Go to **WooCommerce → Packaging (EPR) → Shipping boxes**, add your boxes and assign them to your shipping methods.
3. Enter the packaging of your products in the product edit screen (Shipping tab).
4. View the report under **WooCommerce → Packaging (EPR) → Report**.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Which countries are covered? =

The report groups by any delivery country. Germany and Poland use their register categories; other countries show the material names.

= How do I weigh the packaging? =

Weigh one empty shipping box with its usual filling and tape, and enter the grams per material. For products, enter the packaging the product comes in (box, blister, bottle).

= Does it submit the report to LUCID or BDO? =

No. LUCID and BDO have no public API for shops; you copy the numbers or use the CSV export.
